The test

On Sunday I showed a video clip that was part of a research project that shows some college students passing a basketball back and forth. The goal is to count how many times the basketball gets passed.
You can try it here

Before you read any more take the test---count the passes.

Now, if you are like 70% of the people in the world you didn't see the gorilla that walked across the room. The reason is because when we get focused in on something (like counting the basketballs), we automatically block out everything else.

I wonder how many times we go through our everyday lives and get consumed with our own little world, that we miss all of the hurting, lonely, frustrated, and disenfranchised people that are all around us. Jesus once said, "wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest."

This Sunday at Foothills we will continue our Switch series. Ask God who you can invite to come with you. I promise you, they will have an opportunity to "flip the switch!"
